safety and efficacy

How is Safety Assessed?

Safety is assessed through a series of clinical trials that are conducted in phases. Initially, preclinical studies involving animals are performed to evaluate potential risks. Phase I trials focus on safety in a small group of healthy volunteers. Phase II and III trials involve a larger group of participants to further assess safety and efficacy. Post-marketing surveillance (Phase IV) continues to monitor safety in the general population.
