Inherited immunity primarily involves two components: innate immunity and genetic resistance.
Innate immunity: This is the first line of defense against pathogens and includes physical barriers like skin and mucous membranes, as well as immune cells that can recognize and respond to a broad range of pathogens. Genetic resistance: Specific genetic variations can confer resistance to certain diseases. For example, mutations in the CCR5 gene can provide resistance to HIV infection.
