What is hygiene and why is it important?
Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases. Good hygiene practices are crucial in combating the transmission of infectious diseases such as influenza, the common cold, and more severe illnesses like COVID-19. Adhering to recommended hygiene practices can significantly reduce the risk of infection and promote overall health.

Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
Using the inside of your elbow if a tissue isn't available
